Your Piano Will Shine from the Inside Out.
It’s recommended to have your piano cleaned when moving it.

We can make your piano feel like new again with a thorough cleaning. Not only will we polish the exterior, but we also clean the inside, like removing rust from the strings and polishing the metal parts like pedals.

Would you like to bring your cherished piano back to life? We recommend having your piano cleaned when moving, such as during a relocation.

Piano Cleaning Process

| Basic Cleaning Menu

1. Cloth Wiping

Pianos accumulate dirt, such as oil from fingerprints and dust from the air, on their exterior. Using special cleaning agents and cloths, we remove the dirt from the exterior and back of the piano.

We carefully wipe off dust with a soft cloth.
We clean every corner with attention to detail.
Dust tends to collect on the back of the piano, so we focus on cleaning this area.
2. Exterior Polishing

After removing dirt with the cloth, we use a special liquid to further polish the piano's exterior. This step does not apply to pianos with matte coatings or wood-grain finishes.

The exterior has accumulated dust and dirt.
We use special liquid to restore its shine.
3. Blower Cleaning

In addition to the exterior, the inside of the piano can become dirty with dust, pet hair, and insect droppings. If left untreated, this can damage the piano, cause noise, or even lead to odors and house dust. We use machines and manual methods to remove these contaminants.

Dust and debris that have accumulated inside the piano are removed using a blower or manual cleaning.
The image shows the back panel of the piano. You can see that dust has gathered in the gaps and along the edges.
By using the blower, even the smallest particles of dust can be removed.
4. Rust Removal from Strings

Due to aging, humidity, and oil from touching, strings can rust and affect the sound quality. We carefully remove rust from each string by hand using special tools.
※If the rust is severe, string replacement may be recommended.

You can see the rust on the strings, which have a faint brown color.
We carefully remove the rust from each string by hand.
The strings regain their natural shine after the cleaning.
5. Rust Removal from Metal Parts (Pedals, Hinges, Logos, Keys, etc.)

We use special chemicals to remove rust from the piano’s metal parts. Simply cleaning the metal parts makes the piano appear much more attractive, with a shining, eye-catching appearance.

The metal parts have rust, turning them a dull brown.
We polish the parts with liquid to restore their shine to like-new condition.
6. Tuning Pin & Pressure Bar Polishing

The tuning pins, where the piano's strings (music wire) are wound, accumulate rust and dirt over time. There are 220–230 of these parts in each piano. We carefully polish each pin by hand and machine. Cleaning these parts, which are noticeable, greatly improves the piano’s appearance.

You can see that the tuning pins have become slightly cloudy due to years of use.
Each tuning pin is polished by hand.
They regain their original shine.
7. Key Polishing

After extended use, the keys may acquire small scratches from nails or pens. However, these minor scratches can be removed using machines to restore the keys to a near-new shine. Since the keys are the most frequently touched part of the piano, we take great care with each key.

You can see many small scratches when the keys are reflected in light.
We use machinery to polish each key individually.
You can see that the small scratches have disappeared after polishing.

Buff Polishing

Buffing is a polishing process using a special machine to clean the exterior. Like key polishing, this removes most small scratches, leaving the piano looking as close to new as possible. This process results in a shinier finish compared to hand polishing. ※This process does not apply to pianos with matte coatings or wood-grain finishes.

When reflected in the light, scratches and dirt become visible (this photo is taken outdoors to highlight the scratches and dirt for clarity).
We use special machinery and liquid to carefully polish the surface.
After cleaning, the piano is polished to a flawless shine (the post-cleaning image is also taken outdoors for better visibility).
